I had to redefine my normal
After leaving the Marines in 2004, Ian went back to school — where he drank and used drugs, was on edge, and felt isolated by his military experience. When it all seemed too much, he attempted suicide. One of his professors encouraged him to seek therapy. Through treatment at VA, Ian was able to define the “new normal” in his life.
